Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darron Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yaya Chichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yaya Chichi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Darron Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yaya Chichi!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Darron Gonzales's cut is getting worse.
Chichi tries to clinch up but Gonzales circles away and keeps his distance.
Chichi doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzales circles away.
No luck for Chichi with that takedown attempt.

Chichi closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gonzales to the mat! Gonzales manages to get full guard.
Chichi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Gonzales is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Gonzales keeping moving, preventing Chichi from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gonzales lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Chichi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gonzales trying to control but Chichi is working from the bottom.
Gonzales is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chichi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chichi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Chichi pulls Gonzales in close to prevent any damage.

Gonzales thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gonzales wanted to stand there but Chichi had control of the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gonzales throws a big elbow that misses.
Gonzales trying to control but Chichi is working from the bottom.
Gonzales could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Chichi has his feet on Gonzales's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Gonzales closes the distance and clinches up with Chichi, looking for a takedown. Gonzales pushes Chichi against the cage but Chichi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Chichi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gonzales's hands.
Chichi keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gonzales drops his hands momentarily and Chichi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chichi tries to clinch but Gonzales is having none of it.
Chichi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Darron Gonzales's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Chichi cracks Gonzales with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Gonzales tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Chichi pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Gonzales is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yaya Chichi!
