Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Crackhead Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demian Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tired and clearly flustered, he entered the arena late and after a little discussion it was decided that the bout should take place.
Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Crackhead Jon Jones and Demian Kongo. Demian Kongo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crackhead Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Demian Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Kongo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kongo's hands.
Jones fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kongo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jones ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones throws a series of punches but Kongo moves out of range.
Jones lands a body shot.
Kongo takes one on the chin but seems OK.

and Jones counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Jones tried to counter with a leg kick but Kongo avoided it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones cracks Kongo with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

Kongo moves out of range as Jones strikes.
Kongo closes the distance but Jones moves to the side
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Kongo is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Kongo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Kongo ducks down to avoid it.
Kongo tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kongo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kongo doesn't seem bothered though.

It looked like Jones wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Jones lands with a hook. Kongo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Jones counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Jones lands a lovely overhand right.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Jones. Kongo shrugs it off though.

Jones tries to land a front kick but Kongo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kongo drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jones defends it well.
Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Kongo momentarily.
Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kongo takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kongo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The crowd cheers as Jones lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kongo doesn't seem phased though.

Kongo has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Demian Kongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Kongo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A little feinted left hand from Jones on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Kongo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kongo has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kongo.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kongo on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kongo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Kongo pulls guard.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Kongo is keeping the position.
Jones stays in close to Kongo's body and controls the position.

Kongo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks Kongo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones!

Jones is looking to take a break and control but Kongo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Kongo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
