Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Robinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Burns!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Robinson controls the position for a moment.
Robinson wants to control but Burns postures up.
Robinson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Robinson tries to get out of the position.
Burns trying to control the position but Robinson is working away.
Robinson is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sloppy strikes there by Burns.
Robinson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Robinson tries to buck Burns off but Burns is having none of it.

Burns wants to control but Robinson is keeping him busy.
Burns working the body and head with strikes.
Burns tries to advance to mount but can't.

Burns stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Burns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Robinson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Robinson manages to break the clinch.
Burns tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Robinson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Burns tries to clinch there but Robinson circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Robinson gets a clinch.
Burns is trying to push Robinson away but Robinson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Robinson stalls.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Burns.
Burns has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Robinson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Burns has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Burns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Burns takes the fight into the clinch.
Burns is trying to maintain a safe position but Robinson gets an underhook and turns Burns into the cage.

Burns's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Robinson circles away from the clinch attempt
and Robinson counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like James Burns has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Robinson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Burns is trying to get back to his feet.
Robinson in side control lands a decent elbow.
Burns is letting Robinson control him for a moment.
Burns manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Robinson controlling the pace.
Robinson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burns's head.
Burns wants to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Robinson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Burns trying to hold on to Robinson's head to control him but Robinson postures up.
Robinson controlling the action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Burns is looking for a sweep. Robinson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burns blocks a head kick by Robinson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eric Robinson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on James Burns's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Robinson tries to clinch but Burns is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Burns looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Robinson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Burns fails to land the takedown.
Robinson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Eric Robinson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Robinson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Robinson throws a low kick but Burns moves out of range easily.
Robinson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Burns paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Burns with the counter takedown but Robinson avoids it easily.

Robinson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burns is trying to defend but Robinson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burns is trying to keep Robinson in close.
Robinson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Robinson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robinson is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Robinson circles away and we're back to standing.
Eric Robinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Burns.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.

Burns bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Robinson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Burns's best efforts.
James Burns has got the better of the ground game so far.
Robinson tries to kick Burns off but Burns keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Robinson works his way to full guard. Good work.

Robinson is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Burns rolls with it to try and escape but Robinson cranks on the arm and Burns is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Eric Robinson!
