The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smokeleaf throws a hook but Boykiy blocks it.
Boykiy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Smokeleaf throws a right and a left that both miss.
Boykiy tried to counter with a leg kick but Smokeleaf avoided it.
Smokeleaf swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Dimas Boykiy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Smokeleaf creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Boykiy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smokeleaf feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
