Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hung Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson tries to clinch up.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nguyen swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nguyen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nguyen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nguyen lands a couple of elbows.
Nguyen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nguyen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nelson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Nelson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nguyen tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Nguyen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Nelson wants to get back to his feet but Nguyen drags him back down.
Nguyen cracks Nelson with a big right hand but Nelson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Nguyen tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Nguyen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Nelson to see if he's OK.

Nguyen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nguyen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nelson tries a head kick but it misses.

Nguyen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Nelson is defending well for now.

Hung Nguyen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Nguyen moves into the clinch.
Nguyen takes an elbow to the forehead.
Nelson can't break the clinch.
Nelson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nguyen is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Nguyen has picked Nelson up - he's going for a ride! Nguyen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nguyen in particular looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Nguyen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Nguyen. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Nelson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Nguyen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Nelson turns into him and now he's in Nguyen's guard.

Nguyen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
