Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregor Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Musashi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shepard on his heels. He'll look to pass Shepard's guard now, I'm sure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shepard is looking to work some ground and pound but Musashi has wrist control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Musashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shepard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shepard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Musashi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shepard tries to counter by clinching up but Musashi breaks away and moves out of range.
Musashi throws a leg kick which misses Shepard's front leg but catches the back leg as Shepard tries to avoid it.

Musashi darts in looking for a takedown but Shepard gets double underhooks and turns Musashi into the cage.
