Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sauli Heilimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heilimo has chosen ratamahatta as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sauli Heilimo!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heilimo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Heilimo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Williams as he jumps to the side.
Williams lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Williams.


It looks like Sauli Heilimo has been cut.
Heilimo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nick Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sauli Heilimo.
Williams misses with a head kick.
Heilimo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Heilimo off to one side.

Williams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Williams wants to get up but he can't break Heilimo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Williams is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Heilimo tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Williams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Heilimo on the ground.

Heilimo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Williams stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Heilimo to get to his feet.

Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Williams wants to stand but Heilimo has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Williams escapes and gets back to his feet.
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Heilimo misses with a takedown attempt

so Williams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Williams stands up and waves to Heilimo to follow him.
Nick Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams shoots and misses

and Heilimo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Heilimo.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Heilimo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Williams uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Heilimo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.
Heilimo tries to score with some ground and pound. Williams controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Heilimo prevents Williams from escaping the position.

Heilimo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Heilimo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Williams rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Heilimo's guard! Nice work there by Williams!

Williams wants to stand but Heilimo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Heilimo throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Williams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Heilimo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Williams passes into side control.

Williams has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Some bone on bone action there as Heilimo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Heilimo tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control.
Heilimo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Heilimo.
Williams wants to get up but he can't break Heilimo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Williams stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Heilimo misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Heilimo shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense.

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Heilimo fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heilimo working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Heilimo throwing strikes from guard but Williams blocks nicely.
Heilimo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Williams has his feet on Heilimo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

so Williams counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Heilimo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Williams is stalling in the full guard.

Heilimo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Williams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Williams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Williams wanted to stand there but Heilimo had control of the position.

Heilimo looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Williams is defending well. Heilimo quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Williams has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Heilimo celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
