PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Michal Bicki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fidel Castro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michal Bicki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Michal Bicki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fidel Castro!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro works over Bicki's head and body with a nice combination.
Castro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bicki throws a lazy right hand but Castro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Castro shoots in looking for a takedown but Bicki manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Castro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bicki feinted with a counter takedown.
Castro lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bicki circles away quickly and effectively.
Bicki lands a body shot.
Bicki takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Michal Bicki has been cut.
Bicki takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Castro plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Castro walks into a straight right hand from Bicki.
We've been told by Bicki's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nice takedown defense from Bicki. No joy for Castro on that attempt.
A quick step to the side and Bicki tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bicki throws a right hand that misses
and Castro counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bicki thinking.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Bicki misses with a hook
and Castro counters with a series of strikes. Bicki will be more careful next time no doubt.
Castro's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Castro's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Castro tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bicki sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Castro somewhat.
Michal Bicki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fidel Castro.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bicki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Castro manages to avoid it.
Castro throws a nice head kick!
A shot to the body from Bicki misses
and Castro counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bicki is lucky that one didn't land flush.


Bicki is rocked!
Bicki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Castro moves away.
Castro takes a shot right to the bread basket.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A nice combination there by Castro.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

and Castro counters with a head kick that drops Bicki to the mat! Bicki scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Oh Bicki is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bicki stuffs the takedown.

Castro closes the distance and pushes Bicki back into the cage.
Bicki seems to have got his legs back now.
Bicki wants to get back to striking at distance but Castro won't allow it.
Castro keeps control of Bicki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bicki is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Castro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bicki tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Castro counters with a head kick that drops Bicki to the mat! Bicki scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Castro lands a high kick to the side of Bicki's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Castro dives into guard, looking to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Castro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bicki wants to stand up but Castro is controlling him.

Castro drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Castro seems to have locked his on tight now - Bicki screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Castro, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Fidel Castro!
A very excited looking Fidel Castro rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
