Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a wild combination.

Jones instigates a clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Diaz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jones throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.

Diaz leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Jones counters with a left and a right that stings Diaz.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Diaz defends well and Jones ends up having to push Diaz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Diaz tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Diaz feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Diaz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Jones is pressed up against the cage. Diaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Jones digs a right hand into Diaz's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Diaz's gas tank.

Jones jumps into guard, dragging Diaz to the mat.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diaz's guard.

Jones slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Jones is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Jones moves into full mount! Diaz won't be happy about that!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Diaz wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Diaz tries to escape but Jones has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Diaz is working hard here to advance position.

Mike Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones has good solid back control here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
