Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luciano Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haisha Guardia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luciano Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Haisha Guardia!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guardia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Garza bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Guardia is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Guardia explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Guardia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Garza counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Garza shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Garza with that takedown attempt.
Garza has a takedown stuffed.

Guardia pushes Garza away with a front kick.
Haisha Guardia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Guardia throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Garza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Guardia is in Garza's guard.

Guardia gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Garza shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Guardia as he jumps to the side.
Guardia is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
A slapping leg kick lands for Guardia.

Garza tries to sprawl but Guardia drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Guardia postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Garza to stand up.

Guardia shoots in and gets a takedown into Garza's guard.

Guardia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Guardia throws a sloppy head kick and Garza moves out of range easily.
Garza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Guardia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Guardia throws a sloppy head kick

and Garza counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Garza.
Garza can't break the clinch.
Garza tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Guardia drops down looking for an ankle pick but Garza pulls his leg out and moves away.
Guardia throws a low kick but it's checked well by Garza.
Guardia tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Guardia closes the distance and clinches.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Haisha Guardia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Garza throws a big counter combination but Guardia scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Guardia shoots in and bounces Garza off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garza shoots in for a takedown but Guardia shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Guardia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garza keeps working.
Guardia should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Guardia scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Guardia stuffs the takedown attempt from Garza. Garza gets slowly back to his feet.

Guardia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Garza's waist but Garza gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guardia off to one side.

Guardia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Guardia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garza has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guardia has managed to get both his arms back between Garza's legs - danger averted.

Haisha Guardia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Nice takedown defense from Guardia. No joy for Garza on that attempt.
Guardia leaves Garza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Guardia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Guardia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garza tries to avoid it but Guardia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garza to the ground. Garza escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Guardia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

It looked like Garza was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Guardia.

Luciano Garza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Garza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Guardia is fending him off so far but Garza persists. Nope, Guardia circles away and we're back to standing.

Garza has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Guardia after a bit of a struggle.
Guardia has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Guardia presses Garza against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Garza will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Garza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Guardia connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Garza moves out of range as Guardia throws a body kick.
Garza wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Garza tries to counter by clinching up but Guardia breaks away and moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guardia had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Garza defends it easily.

Haisha Guardia has got the better of the ground game so far.

Guardia is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Garza presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Garza tries to break the clinch but Guardia is controlling the position.
Garza on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Guardia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Guardia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It looked like Garza was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Garza dives in for a single leg takedown but Guardia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Guardia lands a head kick!
Garza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Guardia rushes Garza and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Haisha Guardia is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Garza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

And that's the end of the fight!
Haisha Guardia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Guardia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
