PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derek Aronoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rembrandt Q Einstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aronoff comes to the cage accompanied by New Disease by Spineshank. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Aronoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rembrandt Q Einstein!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Einstein closes the distance and clinches up with Aronoff, looking for a takedown. Einstein pushes Aronoff against the cage but Aronoff circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Einstein shoots in but no luck this time.
Aronoff scores with a kick to the midsection.

Aronoff clinches with his opponent.
Aronoff prevents the takedown attempt.
Derek Aronoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rembrandt Q Einstein.
Aronoff lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Einstein is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Aronoff lands an uppercut.

Aronoff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aronoff misses with a series of wild punches.
Einstein looks for a takedown but Aronoff sprawls well.
Einstein looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Aronoff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Aronoff might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Einstein looking for a sweep. Not yet Einstein, not yet.
Aronoff would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Einstein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aronoff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aronoff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Aronoff looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Einstein working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aronoff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aronoff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Einstein looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Einstein looks gassed!
Einstein looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aronoff is one step ahead there.

Einstein looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Aronoff stands up and waves to Einstein to follow him.
Both fighters circling a little - Aronoff finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Aronoff feints and as Einstein raises his hands in defense, Aronoff changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Aronoff knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Einstein on the ground.
Aronoff has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Einstein is proving hard to escape from.

Aronoff trying to stand up but can't free himself from Einstein's guard.

Einstein is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Aronoff could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Aronoff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Einstein swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Einstein looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Aronoff won't allow Einstein to sweep him here.
Aronoff passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Aronoff taking a breather here.
Einstein manages to work his way to half guard, despite Aronoff's best efforts.
Einstein manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Aronoff avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Einstein looking to control.
Aronoff is looking to stand up but Einstein won't let him.
Aronoff won't allow Einstein to sweep him here.

Einstein is looking for a triangle here but Aronoff uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Aronoff decides to stand up, so the ref orders Einstein to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Einstein misses with a takedown attempt

so Aronoff counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Aronoff stopping the sweep attempt from Einstein.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Derek Aronoff dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Einstein tries for a takedown but Aronoff circles away easily

and Aronoff counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Einstein's guard now.
Einstein manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Einstein throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Aronoff tries to hold on but Einstein pushes him away.

Einstein is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Aronoff can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Aronoff has given up his back here. Will Einstein look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Einstein is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Einstein is breathing heavily.

Aronoff is really stuck here.
Aronoff breaks Einstein's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Einstein is looking for a triangle but Aronoff pushes his legs off easily.
Aronoff looking to pass the guard.
Aronoff looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Aronoff has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Einstein to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Aronoff is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Einstein pulls down on the head and he's put Aronoff to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rembrandt Q Einstein!
