Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh McRoberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 20 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh McRoberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRoberts shoots in and drives through. Matthews sprawls well.

Matthews shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
McRoberts is trying to get back to full guard.

Matthews is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McRoberts doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Matthews.
Matthews looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McRoberts with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McRoberts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Matthews seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McRoberts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Matthews might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control McRoberts haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

You can see the frustration on McRoberts's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Matthews is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt McRoberts will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Matthews is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McRoberts is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Matthews is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McRoberts knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Matthews wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McRoberts, who protects the arm well.
Matthews looks up at the clock and then as McRoberts takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Matthews smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
McRoberts wants to control but Matthews postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Matthews advances nicely into full mount.
McRoberts is squirming around, avoiding Matthews's attempts to control the action.
McRoberts is bucking up trying to escape but Matthews cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Matthews looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

McRoberts dives in for a single leg takedown but Matthews sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Josh McRoberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McRoberts throws a nice looking combination but Matthews bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
