Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Red has chosen Black Stone Cherry Bulldozer as his entrance music. Ray Sanders has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bubba Red!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Sanders scores with a four punch combination!
Red is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sanders sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sanders stuffs the takedown attempt from Red. Red gets slowly back to his feet.
Red lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


Ray Sanders's cut is getting worse.
Sanders displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Red.
Sanders tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Red manages to circle out of the way.
Ray Sanders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bubba Red.
Red throws a looping overhand right but Sanders ducks down to avoid it.
Sanders seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Red darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sanders will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sanders doesn't manage to clinch there - Red circles away.
Sanders tries to score a power double leg takedown but Red sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanders somewhat.
Red throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sanders wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Bubba Red seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Sanders connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Red has Sanders up against the cage in a clinch.
Sanders pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Red has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sanders uses from the top position.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanders. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sanders trying to control but Red is working from the bottom.
Red has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Red doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sanders wants to control from the top but Red keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sanders is really struggling to control Red but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sanders darts in looking for a takedown but Red gets double underhooks and turns Sanders into the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sanders is looking for a counter combo.

Sanders gets tackled into the cage by Red. Red maintains the clinch.

Red has Sanders pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Red pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sanders tumbling to the mat - Red dives into Sanders's guard.

Red drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sanders looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sanders looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sanders!

The strikes coming from Sanders are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sanders in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Red is trying to get back to half guard.

Sanders tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sanders has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Red is looking for a sweep.

Bubba Red has got the better of the ground game so far.

Red is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Red can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sanders grinds an elbow into Red's temple.

Sanders goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Red has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sanders but great work by Red.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Sanders will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Sanders throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Red shoots in for a takedown but Sanders shows good takedown defense.

Red fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanders, pushing him back against the cage.

Red is pressed up against the cage. Sanders has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Red down to the mat. Red avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Red throws a left that rocks Sanders and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Red dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Sanders regain composure!

Red scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sanders to see if he's OK.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sanders misses with a series of wild punches.

Red gets control of Sanders's arms and successfully pulls guard. Red will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sanders is standing up over Red. Red looks to escape but Sanders dives into side control.
Red looking for a sweep but Sanders has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Red is just holding on here. Sanders manages to take his back.

Sanders has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Red is in real trouble here. Sanders gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Red is tapping out! Sanders wins by rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ray Sanders!
Bubba Red spoke after the fight, saying 'It is a shame that i lost tonight but i will not let this put me down this will just make me better and stronger thank you all'.
