The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Varens's head backwards.

It looks like Ares Varens has been cut.
Savage jabs at Varens's body.
Varens misses with a takedown attempt
and Savage counters with a nice uppercut.
Varens gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Savage.

Varens is rocked!
Savage defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Varens.
Varens is still on wobbly legs! Can Savage finish him?

Savage fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Varens, pushing him back against the cage.
Varens seems to have recovered his senses.
Savage slows down the pace here.
Savage keeps control of Varens as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Savage gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Varens.
Billy Bob Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ares Varens.
Savage scores with a shot to the side of Varens's head.
Savage creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Varens's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Varens drops to his knees and Savage pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
