Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Kanehara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ryu Kanehara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Benny Bishop!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanehara leaves Bishop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ryu Kanehara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bishop throws a leg kick but Kanehara moved away.
Kanehara tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kanehara tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bishop manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bishop closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bishop content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Kanehara has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kanehara is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bishop remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bishop has an Americana. Kanehara didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bishop is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bishop hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
