Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman moves out of range as Murphy strikes.
Roman closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Murphy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Roman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Murphy lands a lovely overhand right.
Roman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Murphy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Roman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Murphy scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
A left lands for Murphy.
Murphy tries to clinch but Roman moves out of range.
Murphy scores with a nice head shot.
Murphy misses with a kick to the body

and Roman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Murphy won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Roman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Murphy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Roman yanks on the arm and Murphy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Roman.

After winning the bout, Rocco Roman thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
