The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximoff tries to clinch but Kartes is having none of it.
A counter left hand to the body from Kartes misses its target.
Maximoff with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Petyr Maximoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kartes throws a head kick but Maximoff moves out of range.
Kartes misses with a low kick.
Maximoff avoids the body shot from Kartes.

Maximoff lands a big head kick that sends Kartes tumbling to the mat! Maximoff takes a step backwards and waves Kartes back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Luiz Kartes has been cut.
Kartes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maximoff defends it nicely.
Oh Kartes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Look low, kick high! Maximoff uses the oldest trick in the book to send Kartes tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Maximoff is absolutely delighted - when Kartes wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
