PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gianluca Bento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kryto Pro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Gianluca Bento has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kryto Pro!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Pro throws an elbow that misses. Bento uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pro's guard. Nice move by Bento!

Bento postures up in Pro's guard and throws a big left but Pro blocks it.
Bento keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pro's head.
Bento might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pro looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Pro looking to sit in guard and control but Bento gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bento won't allow Pro to sweep him here.

Bento postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Bento is fighting to break Pro's control of his arms but Pro is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Pro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pro is on top in guard.

Pro throws a strike but Bento rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Bento trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bento's guard.

Bento is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Gianluca Bento will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pro lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kryto Pro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pro throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bento was covering up waiting for the punch and Pro finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Pro looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bento with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Pro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Pro remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Bento takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Bento looks to move to half guard but instead Pro has passed into mount! Damn!
Pro pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Kryto Pro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
