PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Gauge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gauge comes to the cage accompanied by Wiz Khalifa - Errday (ft. Juicy J). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tyson Gauge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Miller!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gauge is looking to counter with head kicks.
Gauge fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it.
Miller walks into a jab.
Miller shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gauge as he avoids it easily.
Gauge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gauge on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gauge pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A left lands for Gauge.
Miller throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Miller scores with a takedown into Gauge's guard.

Gauge is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miller tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gauge misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gauge creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Gauge pressing his opponent against the cage.
Gauge tries to land knees in the clinch but Miller avoids the damage to the body.
Gauge wants to stall.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Gauge.

Gauge tries to throw a body punch but Miller avoids it by throwing Gauge back against the cage.
Miller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A right hand to the body from Miller.
Miller goes for a takedown attempt but Gauge pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tyson Gauge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Miller.
That kick from Miller tenderised Gauge's leg. Gauge is trying to keep his angry face on.

Miller loads up on a big right hand but Gauge slips the punch.
A little feinted left hand from Gauge on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Tyson Gauge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick misses from Gauge.
Miller shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gauge eats them both and turns towards Miller to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Miller bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Miller misses with an uppercut.

Gauge lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gauge throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gauge lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Miller circles away quickly and effectively.
Gauge throws a head kick that Miller semi-blocks.
Gauge looks to throw the jab but Miller is out of range.
Miller is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Miller bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gauge's head backwards.
Gauge doesn't manage to clinch there - Miller circles away.
Miller works Gauge's body with a nice hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gauge fails to land with a series of punches.
Gauge dodges the punch combination from Miller.
Miller turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Miller gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gauge throws a head kick that misses.
Gauge tries to clinch up.
Miller loads up on a big right hand but Gauge slips the punch.
Miller gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gauge blocks a head kick by Miller.
Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gauge was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller.
Gauge lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Miller shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Miller wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gauge keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gauge tries to kick Miller off but Miller keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miller is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gauge!
Gauge might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miller trying to control but Gauge is having none of it.
Gauge avoids a series of strikes thrown by Miller.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Miller dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gauge throws a hook but Miller blocks it.
Miller uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gauge.
Gauge takes a swing at Miller's ribcage but misses.
Gauge with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Miller to score with a decent uppercut.
Gauge takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Miller uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gauge.
Gauge throws a head kick that misses.
Miller tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Gauge tries to clinch but Miller moves out of range.

Miller shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gauge manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Miller passes Gauge's left leg - he's now in half guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Gauge's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Miller moves nicely into side control.
Gauge is not content to let Miller control the position.

Miller wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gauge, who protects the arm well.
Gauge wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Gauge avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Miller.
Miller passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Gauge!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Miller postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Gauge in real trouble here! The ref calls for Gauge to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Miller!
A determined David Miller didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
