The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mad tries to clinch but Sotto is having none of it.

mad clinches with his opponent.
mad throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Sotto misses with a hook from the clinch.
Sotto wants to get back to striking at distance but mad won't allow it.
mad wants a takedown but no success here.
Sotto wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but mad has him pressed against the cage.
Sotto fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sotto throws a punch but it's blocked by mad.
mad is pushing Sotto up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sotto is trying to break free.
mad wants a takedown but no success here.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sotto as mad tries to tie him up.
Sotto wants to break the clinch but can't.
mad controlling the action here for a moment.

mad has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sotto uses from the top position.
Sotto is looking to stand up but mad won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

mad decides to take the fight back to the feet.

mad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sotto, pushing him back against the cage.

Sotto is trying to break the clinch but mad has him pressed against the cage.
mad misses with a shot to the kidneys.
mad drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sotto gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Vic Sotto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of house mad.

mad gets control of Sotto's arms and successfully pulls guard. mad will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
mad manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sotto wants to get back to his feet.

mad stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
mad looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
mad looks gassed!
Sotto goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like house mad has been cut.
mad should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Sotto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Sotto scores with a jab to the body.
Sotto lands a jab to mad's midsection.
mad tries to move into range but Sotto moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
mad doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
mad takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
mad needs to keep his hands up - Sotto had a free shot at his head there.

mad is rocked!
