Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Judo Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Walker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Judo Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Walker!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jim shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Walker throws a counter combo.
Jim misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jim with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Walker to score with a decent uppercut.
Jim has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Combat Fitness in the buildup to the fight.
Jim tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jim goes for a double leg but Walker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Walker continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Judo Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jim throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jim chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Jim tries for a takedown but Walker circles away easily
and Walker counters with a head kick. That will keep Jim thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Walker shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jim is trying to defend but Walker finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Walker seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jim wants to get back to full guard.
Jim wants to control but Walker is keeping busy.

Walker with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The fighters circling - Jim throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Jim gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Walker is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jim looking for a guillotine here but Walker defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jim wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jim tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Walker shoots in and bounces Jim off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Walker passes easily into side control. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim wants to clinch.
Jim throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Walker drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jim defends it well.
Jim misses with a body kick.
Walker is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Jim shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Walker as he jumps to the side.

Jim shoots in and drives through. Walker sprawls well.
Despite the aggression on Walker's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Walker connects with a high kick.

Jim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Walker defends it nicely.

Walker avoids the head kick by Jim.
Walker was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

Jim throws a punch but it's blocked by Walker.

Walker jumps guard.
Jim is looking to work some ground and pound but Walker has wrist control.
Jim trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Walker looking for a sweep. Not yet Walker, not yet.
Jim trying to control but Walker is working from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Walker lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Walker won't allow Jim to sweep him here.

Jim wants to get back to his feet but Walker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Walker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Judo Jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walker tries to avoid it but Jim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walker to the ground. Walker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Walker moves out of range as Jim throws a body kick.
Despite the aggression on Walker's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jim connects with a nice looking jab.
Walker swats away the attempt to clinch by Jim.

Walker moves into the clinch successfully.
Jim blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jim drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Walker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jay Walker seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jim doesn't manage to clinch there - Walker circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Walker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Jim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jim throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jim wants to clinch.
Walker steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Jim.
Jim misses with a looping left.

Walker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jim has his foot on Walker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walker works his way back into a safe position though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jim lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Walker has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Walker and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Walker is looking for the big counter here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jim is defended easily by Walker.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jim is trying hard to land a takedown here. Walker sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Judo Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Walker drives through and clinches with Jim against the cage.
Jim has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Walker after a bit of a struggle.
Jim jumps guard but Walker turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jim is trying to break the clinch but Walker is controlling him.
Walker using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Walker jumps guard.
Walker pulls Jim in close to his closed guard and prevents Jim from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jim tries to free his leg and advance position but Walker is retaining full guard.

Walker is pulling down on Jim's head. It's preventing any offense from Jim, at least for the moment.
Walker with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Jim can't handle though.
Walker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Walker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Walker gets to his feet - Jim follows without any prompting.
Jim connects with a solid leg kick.
Jim tries for a takedown but Walker sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Walker moves into range and clinches up with Jim.

Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Judo Jim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jay Walker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jay Walker comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Walker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
