Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nobero Shimasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Page comes to the cage accompanied by The Hand That Feeds. Nobero Shimasaki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nobero Shimasaki!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shimasaki instigates a clinch.

Shimasaki breaks from the clinch.
Shimasaki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Shimasaki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Page. That did some damage!
Page on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shimasaki. Shimasaki obviously looking to wear him down.
Shimasaki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Page half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Shimasaki lands with a straight right. Page didn't see that one coming.
Shimasaki connects with a good right hand that stumbles Page. Page circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Shimasaki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice body kick from Shimasaki.
Page on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shimasaki.
Horrible takedown attempt by Page or perhaps it was just good defense by Shimasaki, which made it look bad.

Page tries to counter with a takedown but Shimasaki is quick to defend against it.

Shimasaki tries to break the clinch but Page is controlling the position.
Page has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shimasaki avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Page drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shimasaki pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Page. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shimasaki lands a jab to Page's midsection.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shimasaki, as that shot connected.
Nobero Shimasaki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shimasaki jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Page feinted with a counter takedown.

Shimasaki moves into the clinch.
A short uppercut from Shimasaki.

Page's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shimasaki fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Page looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Shimasaki will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Page.
A nice inside leg kick there by Shimasaki. That's going to slow Page down.
Page steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Shimasaki. That one must have hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Page sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Shimasaki moves into range and clinches up with Page.
Shimasaki wants to get back to striking at distance but Page won't allow it.

Page has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shimasaki regains guard immediately.
Page postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Page engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Shimasaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Shimasaki, not yet.
Shimasaki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Page is controlling him.
Page in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Shimasaki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nobero Shimasaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Page fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shimasaki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Shimasaki counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shimasaki tries to close the distance and clinch but Page swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Shimasaki.

That kick from Shimasaki tenderised Page's leg. Page is trying to keep his angry face on.
Shimasaki wants to clinch up but Page keeps it at a distance.
Shimasaki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Page's sensitive parts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Page shoots in looking for a takedown. Shimasaki tries to sprawl out of it but Page keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shimasaki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been hearing that Page has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Page is on top in guard.

Page chips away with some ground and pound.
Page throws a big elbow that misses.
Page is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Page distracts Shimasaki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Page has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Page is looking to work some ground and pound but Shimasaki has wrist control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kyle Page will probably get the nod.

Nobero Shimasaki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Shimasaki has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
