Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Denis Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phileas Ankward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phileas Ankward acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denis Turk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phileas Ankward!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turk clinches up with Ankward and pushes him back against the cage.
Turk blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Turk works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Ankward trying to keep a closed guard but Turk is proving a slippery customer.
Turk stands up over Ankward, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Turk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ankward is keeping the position for now.

Ankward has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Turk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turk works a leg free and moves into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Turk connects with a nice short shot to Ankward's temple.
Turk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ankward does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ankward tries to kick Turk off but Turk keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Ankward looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Turk seems to be looking for submissions.

Turk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Turk is looking for a kimura here.
Ankward keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Turk is looking for a kimura but Ankward is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Turk to get the leverage.
We've been hearing good reports from Turk's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Turk wants to work for an arm triangle but Ankward is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Turk stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Turk misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ankward.

Turk fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ankward to the ground. Turk is now in Ankward's guard.
Ankward is looking to stand up but Turk isn't so interested in that idea.

Turk slips nicely into half guard.
Turk takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Turk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ankward's head.
Turk seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ankward wants to get back to his feet.
Turk lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Turk scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Turk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ankward does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Turk trying to control from half guard but Ankward is working away.

Turk is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ankward has managed to free his arm - good work.
Turk sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Turk decides to stand up.
Ankward shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Turk as he jumps to the side.
Ankward will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Turk drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Turk drops back looking for a leg! Ankward is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ankward manages to kick Turk off! Turk jumps back into Ankward's guard.
Ankward can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Turk controls the pace.
Turk scoring with some ground and pound.
Turk stays in close to Ankward's body and controls the position.
Turk works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Turk passes to full mount!
Ankward takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Turk dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Turk working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Turk tries for a kimura but Ankward is defending well.
Turk lands a nice forearm strike.
Turk scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Ankward to see if he's OK.

Turk is trying to get an arm triangle but Ankward is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Turk lands a nice forearm strike.


Ankward is rocked!
Turk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ankward can do to turn this around?

Ankward on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Ankward is still in real trouble! Can Turk finish him?
Turk grinds an elbow into Ankward's temple.
Turk lands a strong strike to the head of Ankward. That's dazed him! Turk looking to finish here. Ankward is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Turk lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Denis Turk!
