Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Moxson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romano Redz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moxson comes to the cage accompanied by Zombie by Cranberries. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Moxson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romano Redz!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moxson misses with a takedown attempt
and Redz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Moxson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Redz counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Moxson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Redz lands with a right hand.

That kick from Moxson tenderised Redz's leg. Redz is trying to keep his angry face on.

Redz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Redz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice uppercut there from Redz.
Redz avoids the body shot from Moxson.
Moxson finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Redz swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Moxson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Redz has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

A close round but Romano Redz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Redz throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moxson shoots in for a takedown but Redz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Moxson throws out a loose jab but Redz uses good head movement to avoid it.
Some bone on bone action there as Redz checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Moxson takes a swing at Redz's ribcage but misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Redz! But no joy.

Moxson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Romano Redz seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Redz ducks under a wild hook from Moxson.
Moxson throws a chopping leg kick but Redz manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Redz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Redz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Redz doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Redz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Moxson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Redz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Redz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Moxson's head backwards.
Redz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Redz scores with a nice strike.
Moxson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Redz jabs Moxson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Redz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Let's hope that Redz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Romano Redz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

John Moxson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Redz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
