Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chumba Wumba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spike Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wumba's entrance music is La Bamba . A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gomes's choice of entrance music: Johnny Cash - Hurt. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chumba Wumba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Spike Gomes!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Chris Dean and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wumba has closed the distance and engaged Gomes in a clinch.

Wumba breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Wumba drives through and clinches with Gomes against the cage.

Gomes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gomes takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gomes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wumba defends it nicely.
Wumba tries to counter by clinching up but Gomes breaks away and moves out of range.

and Gomes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wumba dips to his left and cracks Gomes with an uppercut!
Gomes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gomes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wumba defends well and Gomes ends up having to push Wumba into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Chumba Wumba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spike Gomes.
Gomes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Spike Gomes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wumba closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wumba breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chumba Wumba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wumba swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wumba connects with a body shot.

Wumba fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gomes, pushing him back against the cage.
Gomes is looking for a takedown.
Wumba lands a nice uppercut.
Gomes is working for takedown but Wumba is calmly controlling the position for now.
Gomes tries for a takedown but Wumba manages to get underhooks.
Wumba lands a right hand.

Wumba's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Wumba moves into the clinch successfully.
Wumba lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Wumba scores with a shoulder strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wumba is working Gomes over against the cage.
Wumba lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gomes backwards.

Gomes is rocked!

Wumba breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wumba rushes Gomes and presses him up against the cage.

Wumba is leaning against Gomes and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Wumba breaks from the clinch.
Wumba lands a glancing blow to the side of Gomes's head.
Gomes is still on wobbly legs! Can Wumba finish him?
Gomes walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Wumba swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

A relieved looking Chumba Wumba thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
