PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Steel Chair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Warrior Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Chuck Harrison has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Steel Chair's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steel Chair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Chair shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harrison defends it nicely.
Harrison now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Harrison slaps away a takedown attempt from Chair, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chair shoots for a double leg takedown but Harrison sprawls well. He's pushed Chair's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Harrison unleashes a big counter combination but Chair bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Chair shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harrison as he jumps to the side.

Chair fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harrison avoids it really well and circles away.
Chair closes this distance looking for a takedown but Harrison circles away.
Harrison unleashes a big counter combination but Chair bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Steel Chair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Chair looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Harrison is fending him off so far but Chair persists. Nope, Harrison circles away and we're back to standing.

and Harrison counters by moving into the clinch.
Chair tries to score a body lock takedown but Harrison shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Harrison moves into the clinch.

Harrison pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Harrison stuffs the takedown.

Chair closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Harrison's guard.
Chair prevents Harrison from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chair wants to control from the top but Harrison keeps moving.
Chair has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Harrison is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chair defends well.

Chair got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harrison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chair has managed to get both his arms back between Harrison's legs - danger averted.
Chair wants to control from the top but Harrison keeps moving.
Harrison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chair. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Harrison is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chair defends well.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Chair seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Chair drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Harrison gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Chair darts in looking for a takedown but Harrison gets double underhooks and turns Chair into the cage.

and Harrison counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Harrison.
The referee calls for Harrison to work.

Harrison is trying to trip Chair. He has hold of a leg but Chair is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Harrison persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Harrison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Harrison throws a big right hand that misses.
Harrison throwing strikes but missing.
Chair trying to control the position here.
Harrison is looking to work some ground and pound but Chair has wrist control.

Chair looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Harrison must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chair is on top in guard.


Harrison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chair doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chair manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chair throws an elbow that misses. Harrison uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chair's guard. Nice move by Harrison!

Harrison is looking to advance position but Chair has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Chair wants to control the pace but Harrison is squirming around nicely.

Chuck Harrison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Steel Chair is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chair shoots in looking for a takedown but Harrison manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chair's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Harrison is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
No luck for Chair with that takedown attempt.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chair.
Chair will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
And Harrison tries to counter it with a takedown but Chair pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Chair throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harrison's waist but Harrison gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chair off to one side.

Chair closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Harrison quickly recovers to half guard.
Chair will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Harrison makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Horrible takedown attempt by Chair or perhaps it was just good defense by Harrison, which made it look bad.

Chair throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harrison was covering up waiting for the punch and Chair finishes the takedown easily into guard.

I've got Harrison winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
