Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Utica Franks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wladimir Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Utica Franks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wladimir Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Karlsson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Franks counters with a single leg into guard. Karlsson didn't expect that.
Franks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Franks keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Karlsson's head.
Franks looking to sit in guard and control but Karlsson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karlsson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Franks's guard.
Karlsson moves into full mount! Franks won't be happy about that!
Franks has given up his back here.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Karlsson has the hooks in. Franks is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Karlsson controlling well, preventing Franks from escaping the position.

Karlsson looking to break Franks's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Franks remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Karlsson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Franks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karlsson on the ground.
Karlsson is riding his opponent, not letting Franks buck him off.
Franks is really stuck here.
Karlsson is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Franks is defending well though. Karlsson let's go of the attempt for now.

Franks tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Franks is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Last Dragon MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Franks bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Franks tries to free his leg and advance position but Karlsson is retaining full guard.

Karlsson is trying to keep Franks in close.
Karlsson has his foot on Franks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Franks works his way back into a safe position though.
Franks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Karlsson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Franks stands and steps away. Karlsson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Franks throws a jab but it's blocked by Karlsson.
Karlsson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Karlsson leaves Franks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wladimir Karlsson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Franks shoots in for a takedown but Karlsson shows good takedown defense.
Karlsson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Franks's guard.
Karlsson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Franks works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Franks tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wladimir Karlsson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Franks looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Karlsson has picked Franks up and slammed him! Franks can't keep hold of the triangle and Karlsson manages to pass to side control!
Karlsson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Franks is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
