Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Cyril Boa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelson Kawai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cyril Boa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelson Kawai!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kawai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Boa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Boa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Kawai throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Boa tries to counter with a takedown but Kawai is quick to defend against it.
Boa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boa shoots for a double leg takedown but Kawai sprawls well. He's pushed Boa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Boa takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Boa has gone for a leg lock! Kawai slips out almost immediately though and dives into Boa's guard.

Kawai tries to free his leg and advance position but Boa is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kawai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kawai has managed to get both his arms back between Boa's legs - danger averted.
Boa is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Midnight MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Kawai tries to bum rush Boa with a series of wild strikes but Boa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A quick step to the side and Boa tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kawai rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Boa counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

As Boa backs off Kawai throws a huge counter combo but Boa manages to avoid it all.

Boa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Boa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kawai has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kawai won't allow Boa to pass to mount.
Kawai is refusing to be controlled, as Boa sits in half guard.
Kawai is trying to stand.

Boa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kawai is just riding it out for now. Boa eventually gives up the hold.

Kelson Kawai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
