Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baron Brixius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deryck Quist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brixius comes to the cage accompanied by Body Head Bangerz Feat 2 Piece - Can't Be Touched. Quist has chosen Seven Nation Army Remix-The Glitch Mob as his entrance music. Deryck Quist is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deryck Quist!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brixius avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Baron Brixius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brixius connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Brixius circles away from the clinch attempt.
Brixius tries to work over Quist's front leg with a kick but Quist checks it.

Nice sprawl there from Brixius as Quist shoots in.
Quist will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No luck for Quist with that takedown attempt.
Quist lands with a good body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brixius looks to throw a body kick
and Quist counters with a head kick.
Quist connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Brixius thows a left - swing and a miss!
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Quist! But no joy.
Brixius throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Quist darts in trying to clinch
and Brixius counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Brixius works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quist trying desperately to get to his feet.
Brixius lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quist is in all sorts of trouble here.
Brixius looking to secure an arm triangle but Quist defends it well.
Quist is squirming around, avoiding Brixius's attempts to control the action.

Quist keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brixius fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Brixius connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Brixius scoring with strikes but Quist is staying in there.
Brixius lands a heavy elbow.
Brixius is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Quist can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Brixius looking to finish Quist with some ground and pound. This is bad for Quist!
Quist is rocked!
Brixius wants to control the pace but Quist is squirming around nicely.
Quist can't escape the position.

Brixius has control of Quist's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Quist regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Brixius wants to control the pace but Quist is squirming around nicely.
Quist is in a horrible position here. Brixius smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Quist takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brixius connects with a bit shot that sees Quist covering up! More strikes from Brixius and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Brixius is our winner by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Baron Brixius!
Baron Brixius opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
