Apollyon wants to clinch
and Byrd counters with a two punch combo.
Apollyon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Byrd tries to avoid it but Apollyon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Byrd to the ground. Byrd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Byrd throws out a counter right but Apollyon avoids it with no problem.
Apollyon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Byrd dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Apollyon misses with a leg kick.
Apollyon with a poor takedown
and Byrd counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Byrd sends Apollyon crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Byrd is motioning to the referee to let Apollyon up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Byrd counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Apollyon off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Byrd follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Apollyon was out before he hit the floor.

Chris Byrd was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
