Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Capital Punishment (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Fulgore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Punishment comes to the ring accompanied by Everybody by: Yo Gotti. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fulgore works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Fulgore looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Punishment seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Fulgore is looking to score with low kicks.
Fulgore throws the kick towards the body but Punishment avoids it.
Fulgore scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

It looks like Capital Punishment has been cut.

Fulgore throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Punishment tumbling to the canvas!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Punishment can't keep his opponent in guard - Fulgore advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Fulgore is working for a kimura but Punishment is defending it quite comfortably.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Fulgore thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Punishment working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fulgore doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fulgore manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Punishment is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fulgore is aware though and is defending well.
Fulgore wants to control from the top but Punishment keeps moving.
Fulgore looking to sit in guard and control but Punishment gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Punishment has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Fulgore is proving hard to escape from.

Punishment drops back looking for a leg! Fulgore is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fulgore manages to kick Punishment off! Punishment jumps back into Fulgore's guard.

Fulgore throws a low kick but it's checked well by Punishment.
Punishment keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Punishment is looking for a counter combo.

Brutus Fulgore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fulgore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Punishment manages to avoid it.
Punishment throws a big counter combination but Fulgore scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A jab lands there for Fulgore.
Fulgore lands with a cross.
Punishment closes the distance looking to clinch
and Fulgore counters with a left to the body.
Fulgore is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fulgore has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Punishment tries to clinch but Fulgore moves out of range.

Fulgore waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Punishment. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Punishment to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Fulgore works over Punishment with some ground and pound from guard.
Oh Punishment is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Punishment seems to have got his legs back now.

Fulgore lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Fulgore makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Fulgore passes into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Punishment is staying active underneath Fulgore, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Fulgore seems to be looking for submissions.
Fulgore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Punishment does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Fulgore working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Punishment trying to hold on to Fulgore's head to control him but Fulgore postures up.

Fulgore is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Punishment is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fulgore connects with a nice short shot to Punishment's temple.

Fulgore is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Punishment is looking for a sweep. Fulgore is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Fulgore wants to control but Punishment is keeping him busy.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fulgore moves nicely into side control.

Fulgore has an Americana. Punishment didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fulgore is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fulgore hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
