Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolen Spliffs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spliffs comes to the cage accompanied by Ice Cube - Smoke Some Weed. Fernandez has chosen The Eagles - Hotel Calafornia as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miguel Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spliffs takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Fernandez scores with a hook.
Fernandez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spliffs tries to avoid it but Fernandez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spliffs to the ground. Spliffs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Spliffs is looking to counter punch.
Spliffs looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fernandez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Fernandez is nestled in close to Spliffs, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Fernandez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fernandez feints and then cracks Spliffs's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Spliffs down.

Rolen Spliffs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Some bone on bone action there as Spliffs checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Fernandez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Spliffs was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
