Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Rider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riley has chosen Get Up as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Rider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Riley!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Rider.
Riley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Riley moves in looking to clinch but Rider pushes him off.
Rider throws a looping overhand right but Riley ducks down to avoid it.
Riley shoots for a takedown but Rider saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Rider drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Riley takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Rider working the head with strikes.
Riley defending against the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riley tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Riley has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rider cracks Riley with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Riley wants to control but Rider postures up.
The ground and pound from Rider seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Rider in side control, throwing shots but Riley defends.
Riley is looking to reverse the position.
Riley can't do much from the bottom here.
Riley is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Rider is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Riley has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Riley tries to bench press Rider off him but Rider keeps the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Riley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rider might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rider throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Riley works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rider postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rider pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Riley is keeping the position for now.
Riley has momentary wrist control but Rider slips an elbow through the middle.

Riley has his foot on Rider's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rider works his way back into a safe position though.
Rider landing some decent shots from guard.
Rider has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rider chips away with some ground and pound.
Rider stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rider working some strikes from top position.
Riley wants to sweep but no luck.

Riley throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rider connects with a couple of short punches.
Rider advances to half guard.
Rider winds up and cracks Riley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Rider works his way into side control.
Rider scores with a couple of short elbows.
Riley takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Riley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riley tries to improve position but can't.
Riley looks gassed!
Rider cracks Riley with a big right hand but Riley just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Riley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rider slips a nice elbow through Riley's hands, connecting with Riley's forehead.
Rider drops an elbow to the side of Riley's head.
Riley won't allow Rider to pass to mount.
Rider not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rider is nestled in close to Riley, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Rider throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Riley regains full guard. Nicely done.

Riley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rider doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rider manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rider works over Riley with some ground and pound from guard.
Rider stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Riley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Riley is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Riley is looking for a triangle but Rider pushes his legs off easily.
Rider landing with the ground and pound.

Riley is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rider is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rider landing some decent shots from guard.
Rider is working Riley over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rider scoring with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rider dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rider keeps the fight on the outside.
John Riley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rider shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rider stands and throws Riley's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rider landing a few strikes.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rider is chipping away with strikes.


Riley is rocked!
Rider works to advance to full mount. Riley defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Riley is still in real trouble! Can Rider finish him?
Rider landing strikes, looking to finish!
A big strike lands for Rider! That's really hurt Riley and he's turned his back - Rider keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Rider Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Rider!
