PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quar Fang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Askren is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by red light special TLC. On his way into the cage it seems that Quar Fang has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Quar Fang seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Askren clinches.
Askren lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

It looks like Quar Fang has been cut.
Askren has Fang pressed against the cage, preventing Fang from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Fang wants to get back to striking at distance but Askren won't allow it.
Nice elbow from Askren.
Askren lands a nice uppercut.
Fang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Askren has him pressed against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Askren throws an elbow but misses.
Askren comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Askren lands a shot to the body.
Askren keeps control of Fang as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Askren lands a nice elbow.

Quar Fang's cut is getting worse.
Askren creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Fang's defenses.

Quar Fang's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Askren stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Fang takes an elbow to the forehead.

Jeez, Quar Fang's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Askren lands an elbow that stopped Fang in his tracks for a moment.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Quar Fang's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
