PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boreste Bardanos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Homero Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bardanos comes to the cage accompanied by My Kingdom Will Come. On his way into the cage it seems that Boreste Bardanos has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Boreste Bardanos seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Bardanos is out of range.

Bardanos takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bardanos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lopez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lopez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lopez working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Bardanos might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bardanos is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ryōzanpaku Dojo, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Lopez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bardanos defends it well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bardanos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lopez defends it easily.

Lopez tries to free his leg and advance position but Bardanos is retaining full guard.
Lopez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bardanos's guard.
Lopez is keen to just control but Bardanos is a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lopez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Bardanos ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lopez moves away.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lopez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bardanos has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bardanos and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bardanos swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Boreste Bardanos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bardanos throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lopez on the side of the head.

It looks like Homero Lopez has been cut.
Bardanos lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Lopez falls backwards - clearly groggy! Bardanos dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
