Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aryah Thurston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike McDougal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDougal has chosen Meddler - August Burns Red as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike McDougal!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thurston shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McDougal's guard.

McDougal looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thurston passes into side control.
McDougal tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McDougal is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
McDougal regains full guard. Nicely done.
Thurston missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McDougal is trying to hold Thurston in close to prevent damage but Thurston has managed to pass into half guard.
Thurston tries to pass the half guard into mount. McDougal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

McDougal looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Thurston tries to stand but can't do so whilst McDougal controls his leg.
McDougal is looking to control Thurston's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McDougal avoid being mounted?

Ground and pound from Thurston.
McDougal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
It looks like Thurston is going to stand back up.
McDougal is trying to maintain the position but Thurston is very close to passing his half guard.
McDougal is holding on to half guard well.
McDougal is looking for a sweep. Thurston is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Thurston is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
McDougal trying to control but Thurston postures up.
Thurston is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

McDougal is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Thurston pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Thurston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McDougal to the mat! McDougal manages to get full guard.
McDougal looks gassed!
Thurston wants to stand but McDougal is controlling his posture from full guard.
Thurston trying to control the position from guard on top but McDougal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McDougal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McDougal is looking for a triangle here but Thurston uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

McDougal tries to control but Thurston manages to take his back.
Thurston tries to keep control of the position but McDougal is staying busy.

Thurston has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McDougal has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
McDougal tries to break free.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Thurston. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Thurston working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. McDougal is doing well to defend. Thurston seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! McDougal is forced to tap and this one is over!
