Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scary kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Takanori Gomi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campbell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gomi moves away.
Gomi throws a lazy right hand but Campbell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gomi takes a swing at Campbell's ribcage but misses.
Gomi scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Gomi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Campbell throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gomi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Campbell counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Gomi fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice defenses there by Campbell.

Campbell has managed to clinch.
Campbell connects with a knee to the head.

Campbell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gomi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Campbell to the mat. Campbell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gomi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Campbell swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Campbell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gomi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gomi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gomi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Campbell is looking for a sweep. Gomi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gomi slips a nice elbow through Campbell's hands, connecting with Campbell's forehead.
Gomi uses his free foot to push down on Campbell's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Campbell.
