Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Matsuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matsumae Sukeyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Matsuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sukeyuki tries to clinch but Matsuo is having none of it.
Decent striking displayed by Sukeyuki there.
Matsuo shoots for a double leg takedown but Sukeyuki sprawls well. He's pushed Matsuo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Matsuo.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sukeyuki . Matsuo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Matsuo dives in and grabs Sukeyuki 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sukeyuki pushes down on Matsuo's head and hops out.

Sukeyuki wants to clinch up but Matsuo keeps it at a distance.

Matsuo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sukeyuki sprawls well. Sukeyuki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matsuo gets slowly back to his feet.

Matsuo feints and then cracks Sukeyuki 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sukeyuki down.
Matsuo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sukeyuki manages to avoid it.

Matsuo needs to keep his hands up - Sukeyuki had a free shot at his head there.
Sukeyuki throws a lazy uppercut
and Matsuo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Matsuo tries to clinch there but Sukeyuki circles away.
Sukeyuki doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Sukeyuki misses with an uppercut.
Matsuo feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Matsuo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sukeyuki swivels and escapes.
Matsuo stalks Sukeyuki and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sukeyuki 's face. Sukeyuki staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Matsumae Sukeyuki has been cut.

Sukeyuki looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Matsuo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Matsuo wants to pass the guard but Sukeyuki is defending well.
Matsuo missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Matsuo is keen to just control but Sukeyuki is a slippery customer.
Matsuo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Matsuo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sukeyuki to his feet.
Sukeyuki tries a low kick but Matsuo avoids it.
As Sukeyuki looks to move away, Matsuo throws a big counter combo bu Sukeyuki just gets out of the way.
Sukeyuki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Matsuo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sukeyuki throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Matsuo doesn't manage to clinch there - Sukeyuki circles away.
Matsumae Sukeyuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Matsuo closes the distance and pushes Sukeyuki back into the cage.
Sukeyuki tries to break free but Matsuo pushes him back against the cage.
Sukeyuki fails to pull guard.
Sukeyuki is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Matsuo keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sukeyuki 's efforts to push away.
Matsuo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Matsuo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sukeyuki can't fight it off and eventually Matsuo manages to take the fight to the floor. Sukeyuki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sukeyuki wants to control but Matsuo passes easily into half guard.
Matsuo is looking to take a break and control but Sukeyuki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay Matsuo will probably get the nod.

Matsuo shoots in for a takedown but Sukeyuki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Matsuo moves forwards but Sukeyuki connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Sukeyuki darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Matsuo lands a leg kick that knocks Sukeyuki off balance momentarily.

Matsuo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sukeyuki can't fight it off and eventually Matsuo manages to take the fight to the floor. Sukeyuki looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sukeyuki wants to stand and escape but Matsuo is having none of it.
Sukeyuki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matsuo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Matsuo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Matsuo stands and steps away. Sukeyuki gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Matsuo throws a head kick that misses.

Matsuo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Matsuo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Matsuo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Matsuo stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Matsuo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sukeyuki as he jumps to the side.
Sukeyuki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Matsuo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Matsuo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sukeyuki uses from the top position.
Matsuo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Matsuo trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Matsuo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Matsuo looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Matsuo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Matsuo has closed the distance and engaged Sukeyuki in a clinch.

Matsuo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matsuo throws a quick counter head kick but Sukeyuki was just out of range.
Matsuo takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Matsuo wants to clinch
and Sukeyuki counters with a series of strikes. Matsuo will be more careful next time no doubt.
No luck for Matsuo with that takedown attempt.
Matsuo goes for a double leg but Sukeyuki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sukeyuki continues to drive forward.

Sukeyuki works the jab nicely.
Matsuo connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sukeyuki momentarily.
Sukeyuki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matsuo.
Matsuo attempts a counter takedown but Sukeyuki avoids it well and moves away.
Matsumae Sukeyuki seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jay Matsuo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Matsuo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sukeyuki to score with a decent uppercut.

Matsumae Sukeyuki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Matsuo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
