The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorlac has a takedown stuffed.
Sambo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Zorlac walks into a straight right hand from Sambo.
Zorlac shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sambo pinned against the cage. Sambo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mansor Zorlac. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mansor Zorlac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zorlac misses with a takedown attempt - Sambo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zorlac tries to keep at a distance but Sambo has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sambo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sambo throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Zorlac's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Sambo dives in looking to finish as Zorlac flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Sambo's strikes! Sambo is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Zorlac's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Zorlac was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
