The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Blackwood is predictable there
and Blackwood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Blackwood lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kelly at a distance.
Alistair Blackwood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kelly chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Blackwood can pounce on him.
Blackwood lands a head kick. Kelly smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Jim Kelly has been cut.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Blackwood has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kelly gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kelly lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Blackwood throws a jab when Kelly was well out of range.
Blackwood lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kelly backs up against the cage.

Blackwood lands a leg kick that knocks Kelly off balance momentarily.
Kelly throws a low kick but Blackwood moves out of range easily.
Kelly feints and then cracks Blackwood's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Blackwood down.
Kelly takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Kelly walks into a jab.

No joy there for Blackwood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kelly lands a big right hand that sends Blackwood crashing to the mat! Kelly stays standing though and waves Blackwood back to his feet!

Blackwood pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kelly Throws a clean left jab. Kelly Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Blackwood's chin! Blackwood crumbles to the ground and Kelly follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Kelly!

After the fight, Jim Kelly was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
