PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Johnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnes comes into the arena with Burnt (Feat. Lindo P) blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Quinton Johnes has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Quinton Johnes seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Davies with that takedown attempt.
Johnes tries to clinch there but Davies circles away.
Davies keeps the fight on the outside.
Davies slips a jab and a cross from Johnes.
Davies misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnes falls off balance throwing a combination

and Davies moves into the clinch.

Davies pulls guard successfully.
Johnes trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom.
Davies controls Johnes momentarily but Johnes frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Davies to his feet.

Davies changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnes is on top in guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Johnes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Johnes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Johnes tightens his grip and picks Davies up, before dumping him to the ground. Davies manages to land in guard.

Davies wants to improve his position but Johnes is controlling well.
Davies wants to get back to full guard but Johnes has mounted him!
Davies is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnes has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnes connects with a big shot to the side of Davies's head.
Johnes controlling the position well here. Davies rolled but Johnes kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
