Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iain James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aidan Madison!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madison closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Madison pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Iain James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Madison swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
James tries to clinch but Madison moves out of range.

James darts in and clinches Madison up against the cage.
James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Madison throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot.

Madison is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but James is defending well.
James lands an elbow inside that Madison shrugs off.


It looks like Aidan Madison has been cut.
James lands a damaging elbow.
James unloads a knee to the mid-section.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Madison has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
James lands with a short head shot on the inside.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Madison looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.
James dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Madison. That did some damage!
James has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Nordic Top Team in the buildup to the fight.
A punch lands to the side of James 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Madison misses with a jab to the body
and James counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Madison.
It looked like James was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

James throws a big counter combination but Madison scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

James has closed the distance and engaged Madison in a clinch.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

James tries to kick Madison off but Madison keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

James is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Madison goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now James is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Madison swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That has opened up Aidan Madison's cut even more.
Madison trying to control the position but instead, James has worked for underhooks and has pushed Madison into the cage.

Madison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Madison should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

James working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Madison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Madison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Madison is posturing up here but James has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Madison tries to roll out but it's too tight and Madison has to tap! Slick submission there by James!
