Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Albert Alberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, The Socrates!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Socrates moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Socrates tries to clinch there but Alberts circles away.
Alberts half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Alberts forces Socrates back against the cage and clinches.
Alberts misses with the head strike.
Socrates is trying to break the clinch but Alberts is controlling him.
Socrates jumps guard and drags Alberts to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Alberts sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Alberts forces his way into half guard.
Alberts is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alberts tries to pass the half guard into mount. Socrates knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Alberts is trying to control. Socrates wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alberts sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Socrates defending well though.
Alberts seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Socrates does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Alberts trying to control the pace.
Socrates is trying to maintain the position but Alberts is very close to passing his half guard.
Alberts looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Socrates wants to get back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Alberts passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Socrates!
That's two minutes gone in the round.

It looks like The Socrates has been cut.
Alberts looking to secure an arm triangle but Socrates defends it well.
Socrates tries to reverse the position but Alberts maintains control.
Alberts dominating with strikes here.
Alberts cracks Socrates with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Albert Alberts!
After winning the bout, Albert Alberts thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
