Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by "Still Unbroken" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Russell Patterson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sprawl Brawl!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson gets a clinch.
Patterson wants to take the fight to the mat but Brawl manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brawl is trying to force a seperation but Patterson has the dominant position.
Brawl tries to circle away but Patterson has him pinned against the cage.
Patterson is pushing Brawl up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Patterson prevents Brawl from breaking the clinch.
Patterson jumps guard but Brawl turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brawl tries to break free but Patterson pushes him back against the cage.
Patterson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Brawl uses from the top position.
Brawl wants to stand but Patterson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brawl got a little sloppy there for a moment and Patterson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brawl has managed to get both his arms back between Patterson's legs - danger averted.
Patterson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Brawl throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Patterson's body to avoid the submission. Patterson has instead reached around Brawl's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Patterson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Russell Patterson!
A pretty intense looking Russell Patterson took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
