PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between The Game (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Ramano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ramano's choice of entrance music: Hair of the Dog/Nazereth. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rico Ramano!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Ramano manages to break the clinch.
Ramano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Game paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ramano shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Game looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ramano puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Game looking for submissions off his back.
Ramano is looking to advance position but Game won't allow it.
Ramano tries to stand but can't do so whilst Game controls his leg.
Game wants to control but Ramano is keeping busy.

Game is trying to get back to full guard.
Ramano is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Game wants to get back to full guard but Ramano has passed into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Game thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Game escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ramano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ramano wants to stand but Game has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Game wants to sweep but no luck.

Ramano is looking to stand up but Game won't let him.

Game looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Game dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ramano sneaks out the side door and pushes Game away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Ramano rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Game moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ramano throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Game.
Game fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ramano swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Game counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ramano's guard now.
Ramano is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Game is controlling him.
The Game overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Game is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Game trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ramano keeping moving, preventing Game from controlling successfully.

Game drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ramano manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Game has Ramano in his guard.
Ramano content to stall in guard here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ramano gets to his feet. Game looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Game is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ramano is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ramano has escaped and now he's on top!

Ramano decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Game, up you get!

The fight stays on the outside here - Ramano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ramano is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
