Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 2, fighting out of New York, Luke Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Kong Su han!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a wild body shot.
Su han is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Su han gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.
Jones prevents a body shot from Su han.
Su han fails to pull guard.

Su han jumps into guard, dragging Jones to the mat.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Su han is keeping the position.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Su han wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Su han is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones is working Su han over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Su han manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Jones's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Su han won't allow Jones to sweep him here.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Su han is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Su han tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

Jones is keen to just control but Su han is a slippery customer.
Su han wants to get back to full guard.
Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Su han lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jones tried to score with a low kick but Su han checks it.
Su han swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Su han doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Su han tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones lands a front kick.

Su han tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Su han has taken the fight to the clinch.
Su han wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Su han.

Su han decides to pull guard.
Su han is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Su han keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones landing with the ground and pound.
Su han bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones is adopting a defensive guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Jones will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jones cracks Su han with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jones throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Su han pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Su han is trying to break the clinch but Jones has him pressed against the cage.
Jones blocks a body shot from Su han.
Su han gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.

Su han jumps guard and drags Jones to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Jones is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Su han is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Su han stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jones.

Su han tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Su han can't find room to land a body shot as Jones controls the action.
Su han tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jones smiles and moves away.
Su han tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jones changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Su han.
Jones connects with a right hand. Su han shakes it off.

Su han clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

Su han turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Jones has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Su han. Oh but Jones has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Su han goes limp - he's gone! Jones jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Luke Jones!

After winning the bout, Luke Jones thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
