The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Monte paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hiles scores with a kick to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Monte gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Monte stops Hiles from getting back to his feet.
Monte is thwarting Hiles's attempts to control the position.
Ground and pound from Monte.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Monte content to control rather than advance.
Monte scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Monte thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Monte thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hiles's head.
Monte works his foot free and advances to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Monte should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Monte looking to control but Hiles is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hiles wants to control but Monte is having none of it.
Monte has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hiles's face.
Hiles tries to reverse the position but Monte maintains control.
A nice elbow there by Monte.
Hiles is working to get back to half guard.

Monte working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hiles turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Monte off and cradles Hiles's limp body as Monte celebrates with his corner.
