Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Augustine Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Bach!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garza tries to sprawl but Bach drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bach perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Garza flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Garza wants to get back to his feet.
Bach controlling the action here.
It looks like Bach might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Garza is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bach pulls his head out easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bach tries to pass to full mount but Garza defends it.
Garza manages to get to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garza trying to keep a closed guard but Bach is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Garza has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Bach is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Garza lands a right hand.
Garza is looking to take this one to the mat.

Garza is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bach is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Garza to the mat. Garza regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Garza wants to get back to his feet but Bach is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bach trying to control but Garza is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garza seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Garza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Garza wants to stand but Bach is controlling the position.
Bach must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Garza throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Garza throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Garza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bach prevents Garza from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bach lands a hook that stumbles Garza back into the cage. Bach follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Garza to the canvas! Bach pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Garza has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Henry Bach!
