The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emelianenko is looking to pass Hunter's guard but actually Hunter recovers to full guard.

Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.
Hunter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Emelianenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Emelianenko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hunter's head.
Emelianenko postures up in Hunter's guard and throws a big left but Hunter blocks it.
Emelianenko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hunter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.

Emelianenko wants to pass the guard but Hunter is keeping the position.
Emelianenko stands up over Hunter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Emelianenko looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hunter has picked Emelianenko up and slammed him! Emelianenko can't keep hold of the triangle and Hunter manages to pass to side control!

Hunter tries for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending well.
