Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yamapi Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leyeyasu Tokugawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Chan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Daite Senorita. Yamapi Chan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yamapi Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leyeyasu Tokugawa!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tokugawa thows a left - swing and a miss!
Yamapi Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tokugawa swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tokugawa takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Chan rushes Tokugawa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Chan connects with a knee to the head.
Chan wants to stall.
Chan tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Chan lands a nice elbow.
A knee to the head by Chan.
Tokugawa keeps control of Chan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Chan is trying to break free.
Chan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tokugawa has him pressed against the cage.
Chan wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tokugawa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Tokugawa prevents Chan from breaking the clinch.
Chan with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Chan stops a takedown attempt from Tokugawa.
Chan wants to break free but Tokugawa has control.
Chan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tokugawa blocks it with crossed arms.
Tokugawa on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Chan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tokugawa jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Chan throws a head kick but Tokugawa moves out of range.
Tokugawa throws a hook but Chan avoids it easily.
Chan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tokugawa.
Chan is looking to clinch.

Tokugawa gets a takedown into half guard.
Tokugawa missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Tokugawa is working for a kimura here but Chan manages to reverse the position and he's now in Tokugawa's guard.
Chan trying to control the position from guard on top but Tokugawa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tokugawa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chan is one step ahead there.

Tokugawa has a closed guard, preventing Chan from standing up.

Tokugawa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Tokugawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chan wants to control but Tokugawa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Chan won't allow Tokugawa to pass to mount.
Tokugawa looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Tokugawa looking for a submission but Chan manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Tokugawa stays in close to Chan's body and controls the position.
Tokugawa passes Chan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tokugawa not doing much here.

Tokugawa seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tokugawa stops Chan from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Leyeyasu Tokugawa will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Tokugawa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chan is looking to clinch but Tokugawa is avoiding it.
Tokugawa blocks a head kick by Chan.
Chan throws out a loose jab but Tokugawa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chan is looking to clinch but Tokugawa is avoiding it.
Chan misses with a takedown

so Tokugawa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tokugawa stands up over Chan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tokugawa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Tokugawa passes Chan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tokugawa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Chan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tokugawa is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tokugawa has gone for a leg lock! Chan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tokugawa's guard.

Tokugawa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Chan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tokugawa swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tokugawa looking for subs off his back but Chan has passed one foot through into half guard.

Tokugawa looking for a kimura from the bottom but Chan passes into side control!
Tokugawa is breathing heavily.
Tokugawa is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Tokugawa is looking to regain half guard here but Chan keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Tokugawa's face as Chan controls the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tokugawa is not content to let Chan control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chan throws a hook to the side of Tokugawa's head but Tokugawa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tokugawa takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Chan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tokugawa looks to land a right hand but Chan moved out of range.
Chan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Chan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Chan tries to clinch there but Tokugawa circles away.

Tokugawa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chan sprawls well initially but Tokugawa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Tokugawa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chan wants to control but Tokugawa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leyeyasu Tokugawa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Tokugawa takes a kick to the side of the head.
Chan throws a head kick but Tokugawa moves out of range.
Chan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Chan wants to clinch but Tokugawa slips to the side

and Tokugawa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tokugawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Chan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tokugawa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Tokugawa is looking to take a break and control but Chan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Tokugawa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Tokugawa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chan, who protects the arm well.
Tokugawa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Tokugawa passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Chan!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tokugawa trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Tokugawa looking for a guillotine from mount but Chan is having none of it.

Tokugawa goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Chan turns into him and now he's in Tokugawa's guard.

Tokugawa is working an open guard so Chan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Chan tries to clinch but Tokugawa moves out of range.
Tokugawa swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Chan tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Tokugawa counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chan!
Tokugawa trying to control but Chan is having none of it.
Tokugawa throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Chan because Tokugawa loaded up on that one.
Chan is squirming around, avoiding Tokugawa's attempts to control the action.

Tokugawa goes for an armbar but Chan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Chan.

Chan trying to control but Tokugawa is working from the bottom.
Yamapi Chan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chan tries to stand but Tokugawa is controlling from the bottom.

Leyeyasu Tokugawa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Tokugawa winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
